We visited my parents in San Rafael for the weekend, along with Bev and George, and Karen and Rori. This was our annual "camping" weekend! I needed a bunch of stuff from Costco, so my parents took me shopping. We used Dad's handicap tag to get close parking, and I rode around on this fancy scooter. It was interesting how rude people were! They would see me coming and cut in front of me. Couldn't be slowed down on their way to samples!! We went to Target also, and the customers there were a bit more friendly toward the disabled!

Time Trials
Chloe had time trials today for swim team. She was so excited and so nervous for her first race!
Lined up on the ready bench!
She is already wet here because she had a false start. We did not really talk with her about waiting for the starting beep to jump in, so as soon as she saw coach Haley in the water, she jumped in to her! Oops! Good thing this was just for practice so she did not get a DQ!
We just finished the 5th week of swim practice, and Chloe is able to swim for little stretches on her own without a kickboard or coach supporting her. We are so excited and proud of her!

The boot
Even with no exercising for 2 weeks, my ankle was not getting better, so I went in for another xray on Wednesday. My doctor said that I have a "nondisplaced fracture of the fibula" so need to be in a boot. Lovely! So, here I am watching Jodi and all the kids swim, from the comfort of the shade!
(Shortly after this picture was taken, Micah got a bit too close to the hot tub and fell in. I immediately started to run to grab him, remembered I was in the boot, and started hopping. Jodi jumped out of the pool, and we got to him about the same time. He was freaking me out because he was floating face down and not even trying to lift his head up to breathe. We pulled him out and he coughed a bit, but was totally fine. I did manage to hurt my ankle more with that move, though, so now can't really walk on it at all....)

Happy Mother's Day
I wanted to take a cute picture of me and my kids for Mother's Day. Too bad neither one wanted to....Micah was just crying for daddy and Chloe was cranky. Pretty typical of a day in the life!
the 3 generations photo!
Happy Mother's Day!
For Mother's Day I asked Andrew to wash the van, so he and Chloe put on their swimsuits and washed both cars. Thanks family!!

Fountains
Ade had a fun idea for a night out. We ate dinner at On the Border, and then wandered around The Fountains. We ate some yummy frozen yogurt and posed for pretty pictures by the fountain!
We joined up with Bekah and her coworkers from Mercy Folsom this morning for the Race For the Cure. I had signed us up for the 5K walk before I was going to be on exercise restriction for my messed up ankle, but we decided that we still wanted to do the walk. Andrew and Bekah took turns pushing the kids in the double jogger and me in the wheelchair! Oh boy!
Andrew and Micah watching the crowd before the race.
Chloe was not very happy to be in the stroller and was impatient for the walk to start! |
Enjoying his post race snacks!!!
We did it!

Wine Country Century Bike Ride
I don't remember if I posted on here about spraining my ankle while I was training for the half marathon, but I did, and I did not let it heal enough before I started exercising again. It has been hurting a lot while biking and doing classes at the gym, so I finally went to the doctor on Wednesday. He said I have a sprain, with tendon and ligament tearing, so no more exercising. If something hurts, don't do it. I told my doctor that I was signed up for the 100K bike ride, and he said not to do it. So sad! So, this picture above is me holding my "Registration for Sale" sign at the registration tent on Friday night. I was able to sell my registration within 15 minutes! There was another rider who had an extra registration, but didn't want to take the time to sell it, so I told him to give it to me and if I was able to sell it, I would mail him half the registration fee. I was able to sell his too, so I made money! woo hoo!
