Happy Easter!!!

We had such a wonderful Easter! There were two Easter egg hunts for Chloe this year--one at church and another at grandma and grandpa's house. Chloe had so much fun collecting eggs and it was really fun to watch her run past a few eggs to pick up one much further away. Made us wonder how she decided which ones to pick up!

look at all these eggs!
I love the slide!
cousin photo shoot!
We have this tree stump in our backyard that looks like a chair and kids love to sit on it. We thought it would make for a pretty picture for Chloe, but she had more fun eating the flowers......

15 months old!

I have been very bad about taking pictures lately. The one above was a trip to the doctor last week (taken on my cell phone, so not good quality). Chloe had been fighting a cold for a few days, and was not sleeping well. When she started throwing herself on the ground crying on Friday morning, I decided to take her in to get her ears checked. I figured that she must be in pain to be acting like that. Her doctor checked her out and all was fine. He said that she was probably acting so dramatic because she was not feeling well and was probably tired from not sleeping well. I should has known, because she has been throwing some good temper tantrums lately--when I tell her no, when I take something away, when she is tired.... We keep trying to remind her that she is not 2 yet, but the reminders don't seem to help yet!! Other than discovering this new side to her personality, Chloe is still a happy and very talkative little girl, who is such a joy to us! I will try to be better about taking pictures and some video too!!

One year Checkup

Last week, we had Chloe's one year checkup at Kaiser in Roseville. This was our first time meeting her new pediatrician after we switched locations. After moving to our new house, it just didn't make sense to keep driving out to Kaiser Point West to see the doctor out there. I really like Chloe's new doctor--he was great with Chloe and did a good job answering my questions in words that I could understand!!

Here are Chloe's new stats:
weight: 22 pounds, 6.6 ounces; 61st percentile
height: 2 feet, 6 inches; 65th percentile

Her doctor's only concern was the amount of milk that Chloe drinks. Chloe LOVES whole milk and would drink it constantly throughout the day if we let her. Her doctor said that too much milk consumption could lead to problems with iron absorption, so she should only have 2-3 bottles a day at this point. Ummm, some days she has that much by lunch!! So, now we are working on limiting the milk, and having more water. It is a slow work in progress.

Chloe's first bike ride

Chloe got a bike trailer for her birthday (thanks grandma and grandpa) and we took advantage of the beautiful weather recently to give it a try. She was ok being in the trailer, but she hated her helmet!!

get me out of here!
dad rescued her
back in the trailer and all strapped in

once they got moving, Chloe was happier
chillin in the trailer

Chloe figured out that if she held up her helmet, she could see better and she would be much happier! She rode most of the way holding up her helmet like this! It was so cute!!

Disneyland

Last week, Andrew had to go to LA for a three day training for work. When I found out that he was going to be there for my birthday, I was initially very cranky. Then, I found out that in 2009, everyone can go to Disneyland for free on their birthday!!! So, we left Chloe at home with grandma (thanks Elaine and mom for splitting the week) and Andrew and I had a child-free 3 days in LA. In addition to going to Disneyland on Wednesday, I also got to see some good friends from my college days who live in the LA area. It was fun to catch up!!

This is a before picture of me on the Matterhorn......and the after picture below. Not looking so excited anymore. Maybe this should have been a warning that I can't ride all the roller coasters that I used to be able to ride in my youth!!

My friend Jen and her son Alton suffered through the day at Disneyland with me :). We had fun on the Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story rides, even though Jen beat me by an embarrasing amount! I will claim it is because she has experience with these rides, as she has an annual pass and rides these rides frequently. I like to think that I could be as cool as her with more practice!!!

After Andrew got off work, he and his coworkers met us at downtown Disney for dinner at ESPN zone. They called ahead to get my name on the scrolling banner outside. So fun! It is on a 15 minute loop, so we sat there until I could record it.....Skip past the employee info, and then you'll see my name in lights!!

This was Chloe at her family birthday party. Shae gave her a tutu, so she can start learning to be a ballerina. Chloe loved it, and also loved climbing up on the chairs! (Ella exploring in the background.)
Chloe has started making this Popeye face--it is so funny!
