2 weeks old!

Micah is two weeks old today! This has been a really fast two weeks!! Micah is such a great baby, and only fusses when he is tired, hungry, or left alone for too long. And when he does cry, he is easily comforted. He is definitely a social baby, and loves to be held and entertained by his sister.

Micah did great during his doctor's appointment this morning. He did not cry at all (opposed to his 2 day, when he cried the whole time!) He has gained more than the average amount of weight. Not a surprise, because he eats all the time!!!!
His stats from the doctor today:
weight: 10 pounds, 1/2 ounce (85th percentile)
(they did not measure length again at this appointment, but he was 94th percentile when he was born)

super Micah!

Micah's umbilical cord fell off shortly after his appointment, so he was able to have his first bath. He loved it!!! No crying at all!
so chunky!

Camp

Chloe is going to camp this week at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church. She was so excited to get ready for "school" and walked around with her "pack pack" so proud that she is a big girl and gets to go to school!! When I walked in with her to her class, I was amazed because Chloe said good-bye to me and went off to color, without any tears or anxiety. She did not know anyone in there and had never been in that classroom before. She is growing up so fast!!! Here she is in her camp shirt...

Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband. He is such a great daddy! Chloe looks forward to when he comes home from work, so they can play together. She loves to chase him all over the house and play hide and go seek. I am sure that Micah will have as much fun with Andrew, once he is able to play!!

The first time all SIX cousins are together. Thanks to Elaine for the matching outfits!!

After dinner, all the kids started playing with Devin's tools...
working on the house
good teamwork!

After Chloe used a play saw to try to cut off Andrew's arm, all the kids grabbed their tools and started working on Andrew. It was the cutest thing to see them surrounding him, and he was so patient with them mangling him! What a fantastic daddy and uncle!!

Two day check up

Micah had his two day check up this morning. I tried to get a picture of him on the scale, but he was crying and flailing too much. I felt bad posting a picture of him so sad! He cried for most of the exam, too. His weight as of today is 8 pounds, 12 ounces (75th percentile) His doctor was not concerned that he had lost so much weight because my milk just came in last night, so now Micah should start gaining some weight back.

family visits

Aunt Kristen was very excited to be Micah's first visitor...
She decided that he needed to get out of his hospital shirt and into something that made him look more like a boy. He was not a fan of his first outfit change...

Welcome to our family, Baby Micah!!!

Micah Clifford Scott was born today at 2:36 a.m. He weighed 9 pounds, 11 ounces and was 21 1/4 inches long. Such a big boy!! We are all surprised by how big he is. All the doctors and midwives who measured me said he would be between 7 1/2 to 8 pounds......guess they were off a bit!

Here's the story....
I started having contractions during church on Sunday, but then when I got home, they stopped. My water broke (more like a slow leak) and I started having contractions again about 1:30 pm on Sunday afternoon. We called Bill and Elaine and they came to pick up Chloe, and Andrew and I headed up to Kaiser. I was admitted and got started on my IV meds. The contractions slowed way down and I didn't even feel like I was in labor. Around 9 pm on Sunday night, a midwife broke my water the rest of the way, and then the contractions started to be much stronger and closer together. I got my epidural and by 2 am was fully dilated. Micah crowned on my first push, and then I pushed maybe 10 times and he was out!!! Much faster than the 21 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing with his older sister!!!
